Ena is a name given to women in Japan that means “gift from God.”

AOI is a new sustainable label pioneered by the same owner, Gerda Mi , who will release collaborative collections twice a year. The label involves different creatives including street artists, painters, and other brands. The first collaboration is MAKARA x AOI, inspired from ancient Japanese warriors and marked by elegant and comfortable cuts with a modern twist.

AOI collections are made in very limited quantities. Some products will have a second release, while others will only be produced in a single batch. 

The AOI Ena Split Dress is available in the color black.

The model is 182cm and wears size S. The second model (wearing braids) is 174cm and wears size S.

Available for pre-order. All orders received before August 15th will be shipped by August 16th, all orders received after that date will be shipped September 1st.

Our policy lasts 14 days. If 14 days have gone by since the arrival of your order, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

Can I exchange or return any item?

Yes, as long as it is in perfect condition and has all its labels on it. Keep the following exceptions in mind.

WHY I CREATED MAKARA WEAR?

Bali was more than a change of scenery for me—it was where my love for the untamed ocean and the thrill of motorbikes collided with a dream.

That dream? To design swimwear that didn't just look good but lived and breathed the island life.

That's the soul of MAKARA WEAR.

I pour my days into every design, ensuring they're not just pieces of fabric but a hug for your body. They're what I reach for whether I'm catching waves or just out for a coffee—durable yet as comfortable as an old favorite song.

Our pivot to sustainability wasn't a trend; it was a necessity. Every scrap is reborn under our roof, ensuring we're not just taking from the earth but giving back to it.

And when it comes to giving back, it's personal. I rolled up my sleeves and got to work with the Bali Food Bank, which I helped start. It's about filling bellies here and now extending a hand to Ukrainian families, too. Plus, there's more on the horizon with our plans to support our reefs and rainforests.

MAKARA WEAR is exactly what I wear for my everyday life, whether it’s doing water sports, riding motorbikes, or carrying out casual life tasks. I'm also a big believer in giving back. For two years, we partnered with Bali Food Bank, a charity I co-founded on the island to provide nourishment to impoverished families. Now, we’re also supporting Ukrainian families in need, with plans to contribute to reef and rainforest organizations in the near future. In Bali, we love to participate in beach cleanups, and support local Indonesian surfers - they truly inspire us with their passion, force, and will.
